With three friends I visited St. John’s Church at the far end of Valle Crucis, near Boone, NC. The church was locked so we peered in and I took a photo through one of the side windows. When I opened the photo I was astounded to see the woods behind me standing inside the church! It was a trick of refraction through the glass! But it reminds me that the God of creation can be worshiped outside or inside, and that nature and redemption belong together.
